The Braun RCS9 impresses not only technologically as a perfectly designed and beautifully crafted device, but also with its design which was designed at the beginning of the 60s by Dieter Rams. The radio receiver can control a maximum of two loudspeakers. The device was delivered with a loudspeaker on which the radio receiver is usually placed, as shown in the photo. Additionally you can treat yourself to a second speaker and we install a stereo decoder in the radio receiver. But even if you do not want to indulge in this luxurious addition, the tonal characteristics of the receiver in combination with the two-way speaker are really impressive. It’s fair to say that you’ve definitely arrived in the early 60s using this beatuy. Apart from that, it integrates into every modern living room due to its absolutely timeless design. Braun devices are also very popular among collectors due to the characteristics mentioned here. It is still possible to buy these icons relatively cheap and keep it as an investement, while indulging in the wonderful sound of the RCS9. What more can a Hi-Fi and design lover want?
The Braun Atelier is beside the legendary Schneewittchensarg another masterpiece by designer Dieter Rams. This model is also a pioneer in the HIFI era. The stereo speaker set has therefore already been separated from the radio and turntable. The radio itself is built exclusively using tube technology and in addition to the design that speaks for itself, offers an incredibly good sound quality. The system was completely disassembled and of course the turntable was also serviced. The playback of modern vinyl records works without problems and in superb sound quality. Furthermore the radio was combined with a Bluetooth receiver so that it can also be combined with modern audio sources. In addition to the technical restoration, the design has been restored to its original condition. Visually changing a classic like this would be totally inappropriate. This restauration is about preserving history while providing unlimited everyday usability of the radio. This classic will bring great joy to its owner for many years to come. The well designed Dual KA30 is a typical example of an almost forgotten vintage hi-fi system. After more than 20 years of standstill, it was finally brought to us and completely overhauled. That pays off because such systems are no longer built these days. At that time, the KA30 was a compact, mid-range system. Nevertheless, the quality of manufacture and the warm sound cannot be found in the discount market today! Above all, the built-in turntable is a real pleasure if it is well serviced. Of course we have added a Bluetooth receiver to the KA30 so that it can be combined with any state of the art audio source. In addition to these technical advantages, the KA30 also has a lot to offer visually. The beautifully illuminated display and the well-made aluminium front leave nothing to be desired. The touch and feel of the controls is also very satisfying. Many of these systems from the 70s and 80s, top class hi-fi gear indeed, are resting in the attic of their owners without them knowing what they actually have. In the worst case, the systems end up scrapped at the garbage place. To prevent this, we offer our Supersonic Vintage HIFI service and made it our mission to save these beauties.
The Sanyo DCX2000 is a great mid-range stereo-receiver from the 70s. Due to its elegant aluminum front with a blue illuminated dial it is a wonderful eye-catcher too. After a technical overhaul and optical cleanup it is brought back to perfect condition. The DCX2000 comes up with some cool features. In addition to phono, tape and auxiliary inputs, the receiver even supports MTX four-channel sound. The integrated FM-tuner is very sensitive and the amplifier in general has a very warm sound and harmonizes best with three-way high efficiency speakers. The amplifier’s low- and high-frequency range can be delicately modified by bass- and treble- knobs. This is an important feature, especially when listening to vinyl-records. Of course, the receiver also has a loudness feature. The DCX2000 is the best example that even mid-range stereo-receivers from the 70s were absolutely build to last.
Those who wanted to bring the future into their homes in 1979 bought the Beo-Center 7000. In the 20th century, Bang & Olufsen was not only known for its futuristic designs, but was also a technology leader in the audio and video sector alongside Philips. The Beo-Center 7000 was already centrally controlled by a microprocessor. In addition, all functions could be controlled by an infrared remote control. These features were an absolute novelty at the time. The system was fully integrated and had a sensitive FM tuner, a cassette deck and a record player. The warm sound of the 7000 is also convincing in combination with its powerful transistor amplifier. The turntable must also be mentioned, because, as usual with B&O, it has an MC cartridge which sounds great, but replacement pickups are already difficult to get and correspondingly expensive. The tape deck convinces with solid performance, but enthusiasts will not be 100% convinced. The real highlight of the Beo-Center 7000 is its design. The HiFi system looks like a control console from the Stark Trek era. Commander Data would have loved it. B&O technology is high quality and rock solid. Even so, a Beo-Center that is almost forty years old has to be thoroughly overhauled so that it can be used again without problems.
